Deformed bar, also known as rebar or kabilya, is a steel bar with uniformly spaced surface projections or ribs (lugs and ribs) that enhance its bond strength with concrete in reinforced concrete structures. These protrusions provide a strong anchorage, creating a strong connection that prevents concrete from slipping off the steel and helps to hold the concrete together under tension, giving the structure necessary structural integrity.
