GRINDING STONE

Grindstone is typically a large, round, revolving stone wheel used for sharpening tools, smoothing edges, or grinding other materials. It can also refer to a broad category of ground stone tools or a more general term for any stone-based abrasive used in a variety of processes. The rotating stone shapes and hones the edges of metal blades and other objects, and some are used in a more static, basin-like fashion to grind and pulverize substances.
